ADMISSION INTO FIRST DEGREE REGULAR PROGRAMMES IN EDUCATION
Inline with the ongoing Education reform in Kwara State, the Kwara State College of Education Ilorin invites application for admission from suitable and qualified teachers into a three/four year In-service Degree Programme.
SALES OF FORM
Post-JAMB Screening forms are now on sale for admission into various First Degree Regular Programes in Education.
ELIGIBILITY
- Candidates who obtained JAMB/UTME form are eligible for the Screening Exercise.
- Candidate who are holders of SSCE/NECO/NCE/OND/A’Level and its equivalents.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
- B. A. (Ed.) – in English, Yoruba, Arabic, History and International Relations, Christian Religious Studies and Islamic Studies;
- B. Ed – in Guidance & Counselling, Social Studies, Nursery/Primary Education, Educational Management, Library Science, Adult Education, Physical Education and Business Studies (Secretarial);
- B. Sc. (Ed.) – in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Integrated Science, Computer Science, Health Education, Agric Science and Technical Education (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Option);
- B. Sc. (Ed.) – in Accounting, Economics, Geography, Political Science and Business Studies (Marketing).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible into Bachelors Degree programme of 3 years, a candidate must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Passes at credit/merit level in two subjects at the NCE with GCE ‘O’ Level credits or its equivalent in three subjects, including English Language. A pass at the NCE General English is acceptable in lieu of credit pass at the SSCE/GCE ’O’ Level.
- Two passes at the advanced level GCE or any other equivalent certificate with SSCE/GCE/’O’ Level credit passes in three other subjects.
- Three passes at the advanced level GCE with SC/GCE ‘O’ level credit passes in two other subjects.
- Credit passes in English and Mathematics at the GCE ‘O’ level with any of the following is acceptable for Computer Science Education:
- ND (Computer Studies/Science)
- NCE (Computer Science).
Candidates for 4 year Programme:
Candidate must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Pass at credit/merit level in one major subject in the NCE with GCE ‘O’ level credits or its equivalent in four subjects including English Language.
- Passes at credit/merit level in two major subjects at the Association Diploma in Education level with GCE ‘O’ level credits or its equivalent in three subject.
- Passes at the NCE with GCE ‘O’ level credits or its equivalent in five subjects including the NCE course.
- Passes at credit/merit level in two major subjects in the NCE with GCE ‘O’ level credit or its equivalent in three subjects but with regard to whether a subject is repeated at both ordinary and NCE levels.
- Passed at credit/merit level in at least four subjects at the WAEC/GCE ‘O’ level with City & Guilds of London Institute Certificate is acceptable for Computer Science Education.
- Passes at credit level in five subject at GCE ‘O’ level, SSCE or NECO including English Language.
- Or any other equivalent certificate.
Admission of candidate is however subject to success at the post UTME Screening exercise to be conducted by the College.

The College is now ICT compliant in line with the E-education standard.
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The Programme is for a minimum of three or four (3/4) regular Academic sessions.
FACILITIES
- Hostel Accommodation will be on first-come, first-served basis.
- Cyber café / Internet Centre which offers online services at cheap prices.
DATE OF SCREENING EXERCISE
The screening exercise shall take place on Saturday 11th September, 2010 at the College Campus by 8:00a.m. prompt. Prospective candidates are strongly advised to come along with relevant writing materials.
N.B: Candidates should come along with a bankdraft of N1,500:00 only, payable to Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, obtained from any reputable bank in Nigeria. The bank draft would be used to obtain Scratch Card which will be used to Register on-line.
Also, note that candidates are expected to print 3 copies of coloured print out of their bio-data. The College portal closes for Registration on Friday, 10th September, 2010.
